School and Withdrawl

Tue Apr 21, 2009, 10:54 AM
So I've been going to classes and everything and hoping to pick up some new ideas in order to remove the complacent attitude I was forming toward making anything. It's been a success so far and I have even found a greater appreciation for all the processes that go into making a piece. The newest technique I was able to use was ink, and so I'm planning on experimenting with it in the near future.
Gaming has unfortunately been depleted from my life and I am suffering from withdrawl. I keep having dreams about my old adventures and possible future storylines. Without a group however, dreams will remain as such. I never knew how much I would miss the sound of rattling dice...

Well, Yushoto got to Great Forks and tried to pull the same trick. The gods, backed by Zenith Remia, No Moon Path, Water-Aspect Tepet Kenna, and the perfect diplomat, the Eclipse Pale Mercy, suggested the Kazei speak back with their ally, Lookshy, to double-check his orders, and pointed out that they had more than enough to deal with with the Walker's Realm just across the way. Yushoto, goaded by Mercy's subtle charms and in his own limit break, fixated on the Walker's Realm, vowing to attack it in the morning, after which he'd continue with Great Forks.
The Bronze Faction, noting the number of mortals in Yushoto's troops, who would be slaughtered simply by setting foot in the Walker's Realm, assassinated him that night. Path was in the camp, spying on the Kazei, and witnessed the attack. He also saw the Fair Folk turn on the troops they'd backed up only days before, as soon as the Solar binding them to their oaths had died. Every Lookshyan in the camp died almost immediately, and Path only barely escaped with his life, and the news of the Kazei's death.

The Walker himself sent an emissary days later, expressing that he intended to go to war. Should Great Forks assist him and prove their friendship (allowing the dead into the city, providing the secret to the curse on his Realm, and giving him access to the puzzle box used to summon Munaxes), he would fight against the Fair Folk. And should they not prove themselves so friendly, he would send emissaries to the other side.
Mercy subtly goaded White Bone Sinner, the Moonshadow sent to provide this offer, into attacking him. The Walker himself spoke through his Abyssal the moment before he struck Mercy, expressing that his diplomat would be punished, and that he himself would come to negotiate in a week's time.
We seized on this chance, and Path and Mercy, who had only just met, took off for Lookshy in Stormwind Rider, intent on gathering as many forces as possible in one week's time.

What does this mean for Lookshy? Are they going to suffer an offensive from all the other countries?

We dealt with Lookshy immediately. Mercy and Path managed to get in to see Karal Fire Orchid (who'd come out as a Solar, partially because of the efforts of my Eclipse Danae in fostering good Solar/Dragon-Blood relations, which was nice to see), and tried to guilt her into helping. Guilt alone was only enough for her and the General Staff to send a small show of forces, being too paranoid about the Fair Folk making it to their doorstep to offer more. However, Path's offer to fix any broken piece of machinery they had piqued their interest. He repaired a small warstrider within an hour, proving his worth, and spent the next three days repairing the Sky Wolf, while Mercy headed to Nexus to gather support there.
There, he himself bought the services of the Bronze Pioneers, and used Great Forks' money to barter several legions from the Council's personal mercenaries. He also tried to summon the city god without knowing its name or description, to ask its permission to use the Yu-Shan gate in the city. The Emissary answered the call, telling him simply to not coerce any in his city, and that they would meet again soon. The Gate would be open at midnight that night.
Path met him soon after, having Stormwinded his way from Lookshy to Nexus after his three days using Inevitable Genius Insight on Lookshy's armament.

Ah, that's a good thing you're improving... But in your case with gaming, I totally commiserate with you :petting: You can of course, try to find a new group... But it wouldn't be the same, right? The best thing about gaming is not game itself; it's sharing you creativity and just being with people, especially the ones you like.
Perhaps you'll be able to play with your friends on vacation?

Aaw, that 's really sad.Maybe you could try online gaming? I'm sure it's not as good as live one, mbut maybe it could help you. Or search for new players! One of my friends did that: run a game with people he didn't know. The campaign took a memorable turn and he becames friends with most of them.

Courage!

I sincerely hope so. Vacation only lasts for two weeks, then its back for summer school :(. I also agree that I only liked gaming with my friends, not just strangers. I have a history with them that extends past just gaming, so maybe I just miss my friends back home. I don't see myself as the Looking for Group type.

My brother is trying to run the idea of online gaming past me, but I still have bad luck with technology. Still, the idea is a good one, so I want to try it out.
I really want to search the campus for gamers, but I dont know how best to go about it. Any suggestions?

So are you guys going to be allies against the fair folk or is it mearly a ceasefire agreement your aiming for? And did Karal Fire Orchid(one of my favorite official characters by the way)suffer any ousting for revealing her Solar nature, or is she off the radar?
