School and Withdrawl

Tue Apr 21, 2009, 10:54 AM
So I've been going to classes and everything and hoping to pick up some new ideas in order to remove the complacent attitude I was forming toward making anything. It's been a success so far and I have even found a greater appreciation for all the processes that go into making a piece. The newest technique I was able to use was ink, and so I'm planning on experimenting with it in the near future.
Gaming has unfortunately been depleted from my life and I am suffering from withdrawl. I keep having dreams about my old adventures and possible future storylines. Without a group however, dreams will remain as such. I never knew how much I would miss the sound of rattling dice...

That sounds like a good tactic. And scanning would definately cut down on the frustration factor conciderably.

I totally understand why gaming can be like pulling teeth, so that may be the reason I haven't been looking too hard for a new group yet. A lot of egos at one table can be a bad thing. Myself included!

Sounds like a plan to me. Not gaming is like having the worst writer's/ artist's block imaginable.

I should try to hunt around for some groups on campus then. And congrats on the gaming. If you could, would you tell me of your adventure? I really like hearing about the exploits of characters and all the craziness that can happen at the table!

I'd be happy to, although I'm vaguely familliar with VTR, I'm sure I'll enjoy the story.

That is true. If nothing else, I can keep those characters vital by similar means. I'll be sure to read up on Cricket's adventures then. Thanks for the heads up!

It definitely saves time and effort. Also inking other artists stuff from comic books helped me tremendously.

The whole RPG thing is I wasn't into it in the first place and I had a friend beg me for weeks to play D&D with him. I literally spent an hour or more in an unconditioned room during the summer creating a character and within five minutes of playing the actual game my character got eaten and killed by a fucking worm.

So to say I was pissed off was an understatment since we wasted all that time doing that shit instead of going outside and doing something fun or playing one of the three video game systems he had at the time. When he asked me if I wanted to play again I nearly broke the Dungeon Master book over his head. There were several incidents like this with him and RPG stuff where I just got soured on that type of game even more than I already was.

But still, if your into it, have fun with it and I wish you luck finding a new crew to play with. :D

You shouldn't have asked! I will send the deluge. We just passed a crazy-critical point and are kind of taking a rest at the moment :P

There was a Dawn, a former PC whom the GM had inherited, Kazei Yushoto Tsuyumi of Lookshy. He was posted out at Nasaru Redoubt, which he chafed at (being the reincarnation of Beloved of Pride, who turned into the First and Forsaked Lion after death, his willingness to jump the gun on orders makes a little more sense), eventually taking his men on a tour around the Scavenger Lands. While he was kind of shiftless and really not that smart, as well as having an enormous helping of self-importance, he was clever and inventive and utterly ruthless. None of us really saw it coming.
By the time he got to Great Forks, however, he had a trail of cities and small kingdoms worshipping him in fear. In fear, because any place that didn't immediately turn their leadership over to him, he allowed the Fair Folk to set on. Thus was the Thousandfold Freehold born.

Thanks. :) I'm the same way with changeling.

Q: What's the half life of an apple cinnaminon bran muffin?
A: 30 seconds.

Any story that starts with an explosion has potential. (Lancea. VTM bloodlines: See no evil)
:icon5daysmourning:
Well, that would do it, then. Good cautionary tale and really bad GMing!

Two massive armies clashing in the Scavenger Lands, or did diplomacy win the day?
