Linework for the Unclean member of the Anathema. Sorry about the contrast beating I gave this, but I've come to like the effect. After a bit of refining, who knows how well things may turn out?

The Solar (center) is Gatzka Twinblade, a Twilight Caste who is cursed with an unnatural talent for sorcery. The creatures in the background are an homage of a creature that is sadly missing from the second edition (feel free to tell me if this is untrue), the Greater Minions of the Eyeless Face. The poor guy in the foreground is another character from my game, a Dragon-Blooded who "fell victim" to the evil anathema, and serves as an extra battery for essence.

According to the Immaculate texts, those unfortunates tainted with this curse were said to be incapable of seeing the value of a soul. They willingly sacrificed others, made pacts with demons (or worse things) and even bartered their very souls away in order to quell their insatiable desire for knowledge. This dehumanizing process left whatever remained of them irrevocably tainted, hence the title Unclean.

Special thanks to the original creator of the GMotEF picture, found in The Book of Three Circles. These are nowhere near as awesome as the one they created.

Exalted is owned by White Wolf Studios.

It is indeed untrue :) I believe there is a spell thas summons them in The White and Black Treatises, a Celestial Circle one.
Found it! [link]

Anyway, is Gatzka Twinblade one of those guys who seem to corroborate the Immaculate texts...? Or does she... Really do? :fear:

When humanity begets too many fools nature always provides a Foolkiller.

Wow, this is really good! I especially like the composition. The eyeless creatures and the hollowed out essence battery really frame your central character very well.

Great backstory as well. Like every good myth the Immaculate texts must have a sizeable kernal of truth, eh?

Thanks for the correction! It's good to know that this summon was great, due to the fact that many sorcerors only had the choice to use either demons or elementals. They're like the tofu summon.

I'll annote the change to the flavor text so that this comment still makes sense.

Not really. These pictures are gross misrepresentations of their subjects- characters seen through the eyes of the Immaculate Order . In reality, while Gatzka IS obsessed with the mysteries of the First Age, she uses her knowledge to rebuild and restore broken artifacts and devices. Her "battery" is actually her husband, and she shares her essense with him. Don't worry :D.

LOL! You know, most wouldn't think they'd be, but the big guy on the left is a phenomenal public speaker and the short one is an accomplished Cellist! The other guy on the right hand side...is a jerk.
:icon5daysmourning:
Thanks! I'm taking things really slow on this one. It may remain a pencil drawing, or maybe I'll add color to it. I can't decide.
:icon5daysmourning:
Indeed. The best part about Exalted is the fact that you can never call their = misconceptions about the anathema completely unfounded.
:icondefinitia:
I'm glad.

(Tofu summon...? What the...? XD)

But this somehow reminds me of the Savant, also known as Binokl, my (and my boyfriend's, in fact) First Age Solar. He's scary.
